Homemade Teriyaki Sauce Recipe

Yields:  2 servings

What you need

2 tablespoons sweet rice wine

2 tablespoon brown sugar

1 zested garlic clove

½ cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons water

3 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon zested fresh ginger

Starch corn (optional)


Total time: 25minutes

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 15 minutes

  1. Mix soy sauce, water, sweet rice wine, brown sugar, honey, garlic clove and fresh ginger in a saucepan and heat over moderately high heat.
  2. When the mixture reaches boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes, until the sauce reduces by half.
  3. Transfer into a bowl and let thicken as it cools. You can add a tablespoon of starch corn; stir until dissolved for a thicker sauce.
