Homemade Enchilada Sauce Recipe

Yield: 5 cups

What you need

2 tablespoons flour

¼ canola oil

3 tablespoons chilli powder

2 teaspoons ground cumin

1 cup chicken broth

1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce

¼ teaspoon salt

1 tablespoons garlic, minced

½ teaspoon onion powder

Directions

Total Time: 20 minutes

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

  1. Place some oil in a saucepan and heat on medium heat.
  2. Add flour and chilli powder and sir. Cook until a bit brown, while stirring.
  3. Mix onion powder, garlic, salt, tomato sauce, chicken broth and cumin in a bowl.
  4. Add the contents of the small bowl into the saucepan and stir till fully mixed.
  5. Cook for 8- 10 minutes on medium heat until thickened.
